Lectures and Seminars
Learn about Dr Friday’s award-winning research that earned him his doctorate.
As the principal lecturer on the Criminology and Forensic Psychology course at the University of Greenwich, Dr Friday is glad to be able to offer the chance to learn about the fascinating world of crime, murder, and prisoners to anyone who wants to understand more about how these topics should, and shouldn’t be investigated.
Not everyone wants the interaction of learning through the replicated crime scene, as some people prefer to learn in a more traditional and academic fashion – and the lectures and seminars on offer are the perfect solution. These take place throughout the year and are advertised via Dr Friday’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages. Interested members of the public, industry professionals, and students can attend these intimate sessions and benefit from being part of a smaller audience for a more personalised experience. Alternatively, groups of up to eight people can book for private lectures and seminars if you prefer to know the people you’re visiting with.
Subjects include :
- FBI style profiling.
- Witness testimony.
- Jury decision making.
- DNA evidence.
- False memories.
- Covert surveillance.
All of these subjects are essential for those who work within the justice system, and are very likely to form part of any criminology course – however investigative techniques can be applied to the work environment and everyday life, and so all are welcome.
Sessions typically last two hours (to include a short coffee break) and include at least three of the above subjects, a chance to design your own forensic psychology experiment, and the opportunity to take part in criminology research.
